Overcoming Challenges to Achieve Success

In his short life, David has already overcome many challenges. He has battled obesity, low self-esteem and academic challenges ‒ and triumphed! He is looking forward to attending college after he graduates from high school, and he is encouraging his sister to do the same..

He has truly overcome the odds – born to Mexican immigrants, who had very little chance for an education of their own, David has found success in school, thanks to the help of the Boys & Girls Clubs Santa Monica. He is a leader in the Club, and was recently named the Youth of the Year!

California Apartment Association Donates to Help Club

The California Apartment Association recently made a $300,000 donation of capital improvements to the Salesian Boys & Girls Clubs in Boyle Heights.

The California Apartment Association has selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of America – L.A. County Alliance as their charity partner. With over 70% of LA residents living in apartments the Association wants to help assure Boys & Girls Clubs can provide safe, fun places for our youth.
