Coca-Cola and Ralphs Host Triple Play Street Basketball Tournament
This was the 3rd year in a row for this exciting event. We want to thank Ms. Leslie Billinger, board member of the Venice Boys & Girls Club and Mr. Jim Lactaoen, LA County Leadership Council Member, for securing the resources and the Coke employees that volunteer their day to assure Club members have a great time!
Since 1946, Coca-Cola has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of America to help provide a haven where kids can learn and grow in a safe environment. This long-standing partnership has produced programs such as “Triple Play,” which, since 2005, has helped more than one million kids learn the importance of physical activity and proper nutrition.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Boys & Girls Club LA County Alliance and Ralphs on the 3rd annual Triple Play Basketball Tournament,” said Terry Fitch, senior vice president, West Region, Coca-Cola Refreshments. “The tournament provides us with a great opportunity to help kids learn about the importance of a balanced diet and regular physical activity, both of which are an important part of our Coca-Cola ‘Live Positively’ philosophy.”
Ralphs stepped up as a tournament partner this year. “We believe our partnership with Coca-Cola and the Boys & Girls Club LA County Alliance will make a positive difference,” said Kendra Doyel, group vice president, marketing, Ralphs. “By making this donation to support the Boys & Girls Club’s Triple Play Basketball Tournament, we are reinforcing our commitment to enhancing the lives of young people in the communities our stores serve.”
